The “lone” life

So my neighbour believes I am a loner, he said so himself. Yesterday I got to  enjoy the breeze outside my window. I can proudly say that the only green that exists in that apartment complex is at my window….yeiiiii

I was getting off a call when he said;

“Hey, how are you?” You really are a loner.

” Why do you think that? I asked”

“How do you even live in that house alone? I have never seen anybody come in, not even over hear you have a conversation…maybe voices. Do you ever even step out? Where is your family?”

” They are around, as a matter of fact, we meet very so often. You know that I only got to meet many of you when the lockdown began. I used to leave very early and get back pretty late too.”

” Do you even cook? It is okay for men to live alone. We guys do it a lot but a woman. Don’t you have a friend who can move in?

I gasped, wondering how I run a practical seven to five job without stepping out of the house, I just said;

“Why is it peculiar for a woman? Is it because of society and its beliefs or is security an issue? “

He just shook his head.

” You know the world is busy, people have resumed their lives and everybody is trying to make a living. No one really has time to just come and sit put in your house. We meet and catch up as days go by… You need to try spending time alone, it helps you to just be you. “

” Anyway, how do you even leave a person in your house without you being there. I am a man but I can spend the entire day in my bedroom listening to music and not speak to anyone. It can go on for months unending actually.”

Huh????? So this entire conversation…

 Talk about the kettle calling the pot black, only this time, the kettle hardly knows the pot….
