There’s this series I am addicted to on Zee world. It is called “Jodha and Akbar”. I am so into it and it has affected my mornings since it is a late night show and it keeps me up at night…
I randomly ran into it and I am now glued to it. It absolutely got me! So yesterday as I watched this statement was made;
“Before taking on something great, people feel weak and doubt themselves. Queens who live luxurious lives become a part of history. Those who face difficulty and stand strong, make history.”
Those were the Empresses’ words to Queen Jodha. It is intriguing to watch the love between Jodha and Akbar, their secret stares at each other, the side eyes and the look of love and yearning for each other in their eyes. Sometimes they turn almost teary and I can see them breathing within. Their eyes speak fear; they also light up like a bulb every time they just spot each other.
It has been a while since I have been smitten by a television series. I do remember “wild rose”, “sunset beach” and “the rich also cry” as some of those that had me hooked to the screen. Well, I was in my teen years then and completely taken up.
What is striking about Jodha and Akbar is that apart from their undeniable stunning looks, is the fact that Jodha despised the Emperor Akbar. He later won her over by respecting her wishes and standing by her too, defending her. She saved his life by consuming poison meant for the King. I was tempted to read up about it and stopped just as the story unfolded further….i needed something to keep me on my toes.
Indian culture is admirable, they not only respect but uphold their culture. Even here at home (Uganda), the Indian community is one, they preserve their religion, language and have grown and maintained a strong bond. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal who died during child birth. it is a mausoleum.
In my world, Jodha is making history in this series. By getting us all watching the clock ticking for when it it starts, her bravery and wisdom…..
